What is a WooCommerce loyalty program?

Adding a loyalty program can be a great way to increase sales on your WooCommerce store.

A loyalty program encourages customers to keep coming back to your online store, and it can also help increase the average spend per customer.

This loyalty program idea is not new. It’s been in use for hundreds of years. But now the digital world is growing fast and loyalty programs have lots of possibilities and plugins like WooCommerce, Advanced Coupon make them easier than ever to implement.

Loyalty points can be used to reward your customers for things like registering on your website, making their first purchase, writing a product review, and spending over a certain amount.

Let’s take a look at how to add a loyalty program to your WooCommerce store.

Setting up WooCommerce loyalty program in WordPress

Before I start, make sure you already installed and activated the Advanced Coupon plugin on your WordPress-WooCommerce store.

Loyalty Program for WooCommerce has three plans:  Growth ($79/year), Business ($129/year), and All In One Bundle ($119/year).

Loyalty feature is available all of these plans, so you can choose any of these plans. But the more you pay, the more features you will get.

Next, you need to customize your loyalty program settings. So, you can set up the loyalty program from Dashboard > Coupons > Loyalty Program > Settings tab.

Here you need to set the value of the ‘Price to points earned ratio’ and ‘Points to price redeemed ratio’.

By default, the Price to points earned ratio is set 1 which means your customer earns 1 point per $1 spent.

And the Points to price redeemed ratio is set to 10 which means the customer needs to spend 10 points to get a $1 discount.

You can change both of them and set the values according to your needs.

There is one more option which helps you to give a name to your points. Here I choose my points name as Reward Points. You can choose as per your requirement.

The next step is very important where we need to decide how your points are calculated. For example, if your buyer owns a discount code, you’ll reasonably want to only give them points for what they really spend.

Pick whatever you want. But by default Discounts and Tax are selected.

Advanced Coupon has lots of other features, you can check all of them one by one. Features like earn points based on minimum spending, redeem points based on minimum spending, and the time when points will expire.

But there is an option called Actions for earning points and it is a very important option. It means how your customers should earn reward points.

Choose according to your requirement.

After completing all of that, scroll down and save your changes.

If you enable guest check out on your online store, then if someone purchases products from your store as a guest, they don’t get any reward points.

So, it is important to disable the guest check out from your online store.

To disable the guest check out go to WooCommerce > Settings page and click the ‘Accounts and Privacy’ tab and uncheck the guest check out.

And make sure you allow customers to log in to their existing account during checkout or create an account during checkout. In the end, save your changes.
