Switching to a custom wholesale order template instead of a commonly used spreadsheet template is a great idea. I am not saying that spreadsheet order templates are not good. No, spreadsheet templates help to make an order quickly and share them with you in minutes.

When you approve someone as a wholesaler, you can send them your store’s spreadsheet template so they can easily submit orders whenever they want.

But there are lots of small problems you are facing when you use a spreadsheet template. Such as, to make an order, customers need to either review your store or have access to a full list of your inventory, etc.

And once someones submit an order, you need to check if your inventory can cover it and submit an invoice.

But custom order templates are great. It will help your customers to review your inventory, order in bulk, and get orders as fast as possible, etc.

How to create a custom wholesale order template

To create a custom wholesale order template, you need a plugin called Wholesale Order Form, which helps us to create our form. You can buy the Wholesale Order Form plugin or buy the Wholesale Suite plugin, which is a bundle of three useful plugins along with the Wholesale Order Form.

Step – 1. Configuring the plugin

Make sure you already purchased the Wholesale Order Form plugin. If you don’t do that first.

Once you have done that, simply log in to your WordPress dashboard and install and activate the plugin.

After activating it, go to  WooCommerce > Settings > Wholesale Ordering.

First, you will need to choose the type of your order form. By default, it will display the entire inventory in a paginated fashion, with each item in its row.

If you select the Standard option, the plugin will add an add-to-cart button next to each item. On the other hand, if you select the Alternate option, the plugin will add a single button to the bottom of every page, so that your users can add many items and place them in your shopping cart.

If you want my recommendation then I will suggest you select the Standard one.

In the next step, the plugin will ask you to choose what type of pagination you want to use for your store.

The Paginated option work in such a way as when someone moves from page to page to browse your inventory. And Lazy loading helps to load the entire inventory in a single page as users scroll down.

Next, you need to choose how many products can be loaded per page if Paginated or the number of products fetched at a time during scrolling when Lazy loading.

If you run a store that features a lot of product variations, then you need to enable the next option called Show Variations Individually. If you enable it, the variation option will show alongside each item in your product listings. That should make it easier for customers to add the variations they want to their carts without making mistakes.

So, let’s move forward to our next step.

Step – 2. Wholesale order form checking

Once you have done configuring your wholesale order template, next we will check our order template.

By default, the plugin will create a separate wholesale order page.

And to view that page, go to Pages > Wholesale Ordering. The URL of the page should be yourwebsite.com/wholesale-ordering.

And your new wholesale order page looks like this:

Now you customers will easily add their products to their cart and check it out without any problem. It will also save you time and get to work on order fulfillment faster. Once all the products are added to their cart then they can proceed to the checkout as usual.

Now you successfully create your custom wholesale order template which is smarter than any spreadsheet order form.
