Building an email list is not that easy that you are thinking. There are lots of ways to build an email list for email marketing. You can create a newsletter signup form or maybe collect emails from your contact forms.
Here we are going to use WPForms, which is the best form building plugin for WordPress and the second one is Sendinblue, a popular email marketing platform, and also provide reliable email deliverability solutions.
WPForms helps us to create any type of form in WordPress and Sendinblue helps as an email marketing software.
That’s why in this article I will show you how to add WPForms and Sendinblue to quickly grow your email list.
How to add WPForms and Sendinblue
To connect WPForms and Sendinblue, first, you need to install and activate WPForms on your WordPress website.
So make sure you already buy WPForms. Once you have purchased it, you will get a license key, simply copy that key.
Step – 1. Install and activate WPForms
Now login to your WordPress dashboard and go to Plugins > Add New and search for WPForms and install, then activate it.
After doing it, click on WPForms > Settings and paste your copied license key to activate your paid plan.
Now you have successfully installed and activated WPForms in your WordPress website. So, let’s move forward to the next step.
Step – 2. Install the Sendinblue addon
WPForms comes with lots of addons with different uses and one of them is the Sendinblue addon which helps to add Sendinblue to WPForms.
That’s why we are going to install it. And if you don’t know how to install an addon in WPForms read this article about the installation of an addon.
Step – 3. Connect Sendinblue with WPForms
In this step, I will show how you can connect your Sendinblue account with WPForms.
To do this, go to WPForms > Settings and click on the Integrations tab.
Then select the Sendinblue option and expand it to view more options. From there, go ahead and click the Add New Account button to enter your account information.
It will open up two fields where you’ll need to add your Sendinblue account API key, as well as a nickname for the account.
So, to get your API key, log in to your Sendinblue account, or if you have not created your account, do that first.
Once you’ve logged in, click on the main menu, which is located on the top right corner of the page, and select SMTP & API.
Here you can see your API key, copy that key.
Now go back to your WPForms settings and paste the key in the field labeled Sendinblue API Key. Then, add a nickname to the Sendinblue Account Nickname field. This is for internal reference only and can be helpful if you later decide to connect additional Sendinblue accounts.
After you have done it, hit the Connect to Sendinblue button. If you successfully configure it, you can see a green Connected status next to your Sendinblue integration.
Step – 4. Add Sendinblue to your form
We already configure WPForms and Sendinblue. Now it is time to add Sendinblue in a form. It is the last and easy step to follow.
If you already create a form with WPForms, then edit your form and if you have not, first create your form.
Next, in your form builder, go to Marketing > Sendinblue. Then, in the Sendinblue tab, click on the Add New Connection button.
After clicking on it, a popup will show where you need to enter a nickname for this connection. You can enter any nickname you like, as this is for internal reference only.
Then It will open up more options where you need to select your Sendinblue account. If you have connected one or more accounts, simply choose one of them. Then, under Action to Perform, select the action you’d like to happen when users submit your form. For our example, we’ll select Subscribe to add users to our Sendinblue contacts.
Once you’ve selected an action to perform, additional settings will populate for you to configure.
Email option is required. Select the WPForms field that will contain the subscriber’s email address.
New Email is not mandatory. Select the WPForms field that would contain the new email address of the subscriber. This field is only necessary when updating an existing contact in Sendinblue, so for our example, we’ll leave this field blank.
List option is required. Select your list from the dropdown that you’d like the subscriber to be added to.
If you’d like, you can also map any custom fields you’ve added to your Sendinblue account under the Custom Field Name section.
So, after successfully configuring it, don’t forget to save all your changes.
